Let me make this clear right off the bat: I AM NOT A HIGH TECH GUY. I am actually anti-technology in a lot of ways. Even though I grew up in high tech northern VA (just outside of DC) and spent my college years majoring in Information Technology, I long for the days before technology messed up the world.
I miss the days of playing outside instead of playing online. I miss the days when we watched TV with antennas instead of satellites. I miss the days when cartoons were simple and innocent – a cat chases a mouse and everyone has a good time – as opposed to today having to figure out the difference between TV-G and TV-Y7FV.
But do you want to know what I miss most? I miss the days when the phrase “I talked to my friend today” actually meant you opened your mouth and spoke today. It had nothing to do with your fingers or your keyboard. I miss the days when life was simple and easy to figure out.
Now with that said, I am not taking any moral stances against technology or saying it is the antichrist or anything like that. That is ridiculous. However, what I am saying is that despite the many good things technology has done for us, it has also messed us up in ways that we don’t realize.
In my opinion, one of the things that technology has done is that it has made simple things complex. It complicates life and makes us more and more busy with each passing day. Life today moves at an incredible pace and that leaves many feeling overwhelmed and overloaded.
That is why I created this blog. I believe that life was not meant to be lived that way. I believe God created each of us uniquely because He had a specific idea/plan/dream of how He wants our lives to look.
I believe that the #1 problem today is that many people are living lives far away from what God envisioned for them.
The purpose of this blog is to help you see where God wants you to be… how He wants you to live… what your life should look like and could look like if you allowed God to lead it for you.
Simply put – my goal in this blog is to help you see that God is:
1. REAL – He wants to be an active part of your life, not just someone we visit on Sundays.
2. RELEVANT – He wants to make something spectacular and magnificent out of your life, something even greater than you can imagine or comprehend
3. REWARDING – He wants you to smile and enjoy the process every day, knowing that you are in good hands and that He always has your best interests at heart
Showing that God is real, relevant and rewarding. That’s my goal. Welcome to my blog.
